Time Savor Portraits

A photograph stops time. A portrait savors it.

The Paper Anniversary

Posted by [email protected] on December 3, 2011 at 7:20 AM

I have two life lists.  One for myself (swim with dolphins, ride on a hot air balloon, take my kids to Disney World, etc......) and one filled with goals that I want to see my friends and family accomplish.  Seeing one of my best friends fall in love and marry a wonderful man was definitely close to the top of that list!

Chrissy and I have been friends since we went to pre-school together when we were four.  She was in both of my sisters' weddings as a bridesmaid, and my maid of honor.  I was SO excited when I got to be her matron of honor this past December.  For her belated wedding present, I wanted to draw a wedding portrait for her to give to her husband on thier first anniversary because it is the paper anniversary!

I sat down with Chrissy a few months ago with her wedding album and we looked over photographs that she loved.  We decided to combine a few photos- one of her, one of her husband, Eric, and one of the flowers.  She chose a black and white style with colored highlights to draw attention to her beautiful roses.

I absolutely love the looks on their faces.  You can just tell they adore eachother!

...And here's the finished drawing!

Thinking about what to give your honey for an anniversary or Valentine's Day gift?  The thing I love about doing a couple's portrait  is I can take the best pieces of your wedding photographs and combine them into one that will adorn your home.  I hope that it will always remind you of the love you shared on your special day!

I also offer gift certificates.  If you're a guest at a wedding, you can give the happy couple a portrait of them looking their best on their special day!  I'll work closely with the couple to ensure they will love their portrait almost as much as they love eachother.  ;)
